Back in CA

We just returned to California after a 3 week trip to Texas to visit family.  We had a packed schedule, and it was really a fun trip.  We spent a week and a half at the Fisher house, and a week and a half at the Williams house.  This was the first time most of the extended family got to meet Megan.  We spent most days swimming in the pool and trying to stay cool out there.  The last 2 weeks we were there the temperature hit at least 100 degrees every day but one!

Between the two family visits, Krista and I got to take a trip to Las Vegas, without the kids.  Kelsey and Megan stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Williams.  We had a blast surprising Stephen for his 30th birthday.  Stephen didn’t even know he was going to Vegas until the morning of, and then David, Krista and I walked up and surprised him again while he was playing video poker.   We ate some good food, gambled a little, and got to SLEEP IN!  It was perfect.

The trip was capped off with a 60th wedding anniversary party for Krista’s grandparents.  We had a 2 day celebration filled with games and activities and again lots of good food.  Krista’s grandparents were very appreciative of the party, and everyone had a great time.  There were over 30 people at the party most of the time.

It’s amazing how much Megan changed from the beginning of the trip to the end.  Before we left, Megan couldn’t sit up on her own and was barely pulling up on all fours.  Now she can sit up on her own and is scooting around.  It’s good to be 6 months! 

Almost time to go back to work for me.  I have been off now for almost 4 weeks.  It will not be fun to go back, but I suppose I am ready.  It was definitely refreshing to be off for this period of time.  See you later.
